Refund Policy

1. Overview
BAvolta is operated by SCL UP, a private limited company (SRL) registered in Belgium (Avenue Louise 167, box 12, 1050 Ixelles, Belgium · 0774.292.404). All BAvolta subscriptions are sold through our Merchant of Record, Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"). Paddle handles payment processing, tax compliance, refunds, and billing-related customer support on our behalf.
This policy explains your refund rights. Nothing in this policy limits your mandatory consumer rights under the laws of your country of residence.
2. 14-day money-back guarantee
BAvolta offers a 14-day money-back guarantee on all new subscriptions. If BAvolta is not the right fit for you, you can request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase, regardless of where you are based.
To request a refund, contact us at hello@bavolta.com or use the Paddle customer portal at paddle.net.
Refunds are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, and typically appear in 3 to 5 business days for card payments and within 48 hours for PayPal.
3. 14-day right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you have the right to cancel your initial subscription purchase within 14 days of the purchase date and receive a full refund, no questions asked. This reflects the statutory right of withdrawal granted by EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, and we extend the same right to customers in all regions.
The 14-day window starts on the date of your first subscription payment.
To exercise this right, contact us using any of the methods in Section 7 before the 14-day window expires.
When a refund is granted, your access to paid content will end and your subscription will be cancelled. Access to the free Module 1 tier remains available.
4. After the 14-day window
4.1 Monthly subscriptions
After the 14-day window, monthly subscriptions are not refundable for the current billing period. You may cancel at any time, which stops future renewals. You retain access to paid content until the end of your current paid month.
4.2 Annual subscriptions
After the 14-day window, annual subscriptions are not refundable for the remainder of the paid year. You may cancel at any time, which stops future renewals, and you retain access to paid content until the end of your paid year.
If you wish to switch between monthly and annual plans, contact us and we will coordinate with Paddle to apply a reasonable credit or proration.
5. Discretionary refunds outside the 14-day window
Outside the statutory withdrawal period, Paddle and SCL UP may consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis. We are likely to approve a refund where:
- A technical issue on our side prevents you from accessing the Service
- You were charged more than once for the same purchase (duplicate charge)
- The Service has a material defect that prevents access to features as described at the time of purchase
- You were charged after cancellation due to a processing error
6. Statutory rights by region
Some jurisdictions grant consumer cancellation rights that may override or supplement this policy. In particular:
- EU / EEA / Switzerland / UK: 14-day withdrawal right (as described in Section 2)
- Turkey / Israel: 14-day statutory withdrawal right
- South Korea / Brazil / China: 7-day unconditional right to cancel after delivery
- Canada: 7-day unconditional right to cancel after delivery
- Singapore: 5-day unconditional right to cancel after delivery or first access
Where local consumer protection law grants additional or non-waivable rights, the highest level of protection applies.
7. How to request a refund
You can request a refund in any of the following ways:
- Use the "View receipt" or "Request refund" link in the Paddle transaction confirmation email
- Visit paddle.net and select "Request refund"
- Email us at hello@bavolta.com with your account email and order reference
We respond within 5 business days. Refund decisions within the 14-day withdrawal window are approved automatically upon request.
8. Refund processing
Once approved, refunds are issued by Paddle using the original payment method:
- Card payments: typically visible within 3 to 5 business days after processing
- PayPal: typically within 48 hours
- Other methods: as indicated in your Paddle confirmation
Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider. Refunded amounts may differ slightly from the original charge due to currency exchange rate fluctuations between the purchase date and the refund date.
9. What a refund means for your access
If a refund is granted:
- Your paid subscription is cancelled immediately
- Your access to paid content is revoked
- Your account remains active with access to the free Module 1 tier, unless you also request account deletion
- Your lesson progress and Case Lab submissions are preserved in case you return, unless you request deletion
10. Cancelling without a refund
You can cancel your subscription at any time without requesting a refund:
- Through the Paddle customer portal (link in your purchase confirmation email)
- By emailing hello@bavolta.com
Cancellation stops future billing. You retain access to paid content until the end of your current paid period.
11. Exceptions
This refund policy does not apply to:
- The free Module 1 tier (no charge)
- Promotional or gifted subscriptions, unless stated otherwise in the promotion terms
- Accounts terminated for material breach of our Terms of Service, including fraud, chargeback abuse, or unauthorized access
